• With this effect, the Via Draconis changes the shape of any creature within its field of vision. An unwilling creature must make a Wisdom saving throw Difficulty 8 + proficiency bonus + Wisdom modifier to avoid this effect.
• The transformation lasts for 1 hour, or until the target drops to 0 hit points or dies. The new form can be that of any beast whose danger index is equal to half its level (rounded down). The target's technical profile, including its mental characteristic values, is replaced by that of the chosen beast. However, the target retains its personality.
• The target has the hit points corresponding to its new form. When the target reverts to its original form, it has the same number of hit points as before the transformation. If the target returns to its original form because it has dropped to 0 hit points, any excess damage is deducted from the hit points of its original form. As long as the excess damage does not reduce the creature normal hit points to 0, it is not unconscious.
• The creature new form limits the actions it can undertake, and it cannot speak, use magic or perform any action requiring speech or the use of its hands.
• The target equipment merges with its new form, but it cannot activate, use or handle any piece of equipment, nor can it benefit from its effects.
